What do you do?
Technically, I’m a professional blogger.
MattieJames.com is my full time job.

How do I start?
I’d like to blog as well. How do I start?
Just start writing about things you’re passionate about and want to share with others. The more you write, the better you’ll get. Take photos as well. Learn how to create content by watching and learning from your favorites. Don’t copy others, but take what you like from the best and mold it into your own thing. And most importantly, don’t overthink it. It’s only blogging.
Do you blog full time?
Yes. After blogging for five years while having a 9 to 5, I decided to blog full time after I was let go from my job.
What school did you go to and what did you study?
I went to Penn State University and Robert Morris University. I studied broadcast journalism.
Is blogging a lot of work?
Yes. It’s way harder than it looks. It takes time to create good content on a consistent basis. To create 2-3 posts weekly takes about 20-30 hours. There’s also a lot of admin work behind the scenes when you work with brands regularly.
How do you get so much done?
I’m really intentional and plan accordingly. My blog business plan really helped. Also, because this is my full time business, I have a team of freelancers + interns who help me bring my content to life.
How do you make money blogging?
Currently, my streams of income include brand partnerships, sponsored blog and social posts, Google Adsense (via YouTube), selling products, digital workbooks & online courses.
Who takes your pictures?
What kind of camera and lens do you use?
I work with a handful of local Atlanta photographers like Chris and Udee for my posts. However, I have a team photographer and videographer I work with. In any instance there isn’t a photo credit or source, my husband or I have taken the photo(s). I take my personal and/or lifestyle photos with my phone (iPhone 7 Plus) or my Canon 6D with a 24-105mm lens.
Can I interview you for my school project, podcast and/or blog?
While I’m incredibly honored to be considered for your interview, I currently only accept phone or video interviews at this time, if applicable. (No written interviews at this time.)
What city are you based in?
I’m based in Atlanta, GA.
May I use the photographs on your blog?
Use of my photos are permitted as long as you link back to MattieJames.com. All of my original photos are copyrighted.

Narsha is the one who makes Mattie’s crazy ideas a profitable reality. Well versed on the latest apps and software, she’s the right hand woman for the infopreneur side of the brand. Whether it’s a site relaunch or a 5 module online course, Narsha spearheads the workflow for each project by providing everything from email automation to social graphics.

Iréal is the one who makes the content look good. From outfit posts to monthly favorite videos, she collaborates to make sure the idea becomes the vision it was always meant to be whether it’s in .png or .mp4 form.
